Horizons
In the 1990’s Daniel Goldstein began creating his “Horizon” series of collages by combining various elements used in his earlier printmaking work. Hand-mixed inks were rolled out very slowly to create glowing skyscapes. The calm surface of the ocean are parts of woodblock prints, the waves being the natural patterns found in the grains of the wood used. Several of the original collages are still available for sale. Most are available life-size as limited edition prints on aluminum mounted in gun-metal frames. The colors reproduce perfectly, and the aluminum surface adds an extra level of crispness and depth.
